Job responsibilities
- Support program’s staff by promoting ISEP programs and UCI school wide events applicable to the international student population
- Translate content from English to Chinese
- Regularly create content and publish posts on WeChat
- Monitor engagement and inquiries on social media profiles
- Respond to student engagement trends on Chinese social media
- Report regularly to administrative staff on the engagement trends and inquiries from WeChat
- Suggestions for engagement: Music playlists, photo/video contest, encouraging tagging of others, spotlights/features on staff and scholars, recipes or sharing of cooking, video clips from home/home town, 1 minute interviews, art prompts and sharing
Job requirements
- Bilingual in Mandarin and English
- Experience managing a Chinese social media account, including WeChat and/or Weibo
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Able to be timely and work with deadlines
- Attention to detail including copy editing and proofreading skills in both English and Mandarin
The following skills are an advantage
- Work experience managing an official corporation’s social media account
- Degree and/or background in business or marketing
