ISEP welcomes Mentees at International Student Orientation Week 2016

International Student Excellence Programs is excited to welcome new Mentees at International Student Orientation (ISO) Week 2016!  ISO occurs September 12-14, 2016.  The following ISEP events are meant to connect Mentees with International Peer Group Mentors, introduce them to UCI alumni, and to familiarize first-year students with UCI’s campus.

Meet Your Mentor: International Peer Group (IPG)
Tuesday, September 13, 2016
2:30-3:30 PM (Tracks C & D) / 6:30-7:30 PM (Track A) / 7:00-8:00 PM (Track B)

ISO staff will bring participants to various locations.

IPG is a cross-cultural mentoring program designed to assist incoming first-year international students in making a smooth transition into university life. IPG provides academic and social support in order to engage students in UCI’s vibrant campus life and help them create relationships in their new environment.  On Tuesday, you’ll get the opportunity to choose a themed Mentor family and meet your IPG Mentor!   http://isep.due.uci.edu/

International First-Year & Alumni Mixer

You are invited to a special dinner event for first-year international students and UCI alumni.  This “mixer” is an opportunity for students to talk to alumni, hear about their experiences, and make new personal connections.  Our alumni are eager to chat with you.  Dinner will be provided, and students will be eligible to win prizes.  REQUIRED sign-up for this event. The limit is 150 students.

Campus Tours with Your IPG Mentor

11 AM – 1 PM
Meet at the flagpoles in front of Aldrich Hall

Bring your class schedule and tour the campus with your IPG Mentor and fellow mentees.  See the buildings where your classes will be held and get your questions answered by your IPG Mentor.  IPG tour groups will meet in front of Aldrich Hall and will begin their walk across campus promptly at 11 AM.  Please do not be late!
